Digital Innovation, an exciting new conference coming to Northeast Mississippi, will be held October 3rd and 4th at Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo, Mississippi. The conference celebrates the advancement of fiber-optic internet across Mississippi. Digital Innovation: Promoting Multi-Industry Digital Security

Hosted by MEGAPOP, Digital Innovation is North MS’s leading digital security, business, technology, and education event. In 2005, MEGAPOP and C-Spire Fiber lit a fiber ring that currently serves two-thirds of the state of Mississippi. Over time, new rings with additional access have been added, with C-Spire and the North Mississippi Electric Cooperatives leading the way–building over 16,000 miles of fiber, passing 218,979 homes and businesses that now have 83,000+ subscribers.

As innovations in fiber continue across the region, Mississippians must be equipped with the tools to navigate the digital landscape. Leaders in their field, Digital Innovation’s two speakers Scott Klososky and Brett Johnson will share exclusive insights on this very topic.

As a founding partner of digital strategy firm, Future Point of View (FPOV), Scott Klososky is on the leading edge of technology and innovative thinking. Klososky pioneered The High Beam Process, a framework for looking accurately into the future of an industry sector in order to set organizational strategy. His Digital Innovation speech, “Trends, Technology and Taking the Lead,” will delve into the innovations and trends shaping the digital landscapes and business as we know it.

Former United States Most Wanted, Brett Johnson, referred to by the United States Secret Service as “The Original Internet Godfather” has been a central figure in the cybercrime world for over 20 years. He built and was the leader of ShadowCrew, the precursor to today’s darknet markets. Today, Brett works as a security consultant and public speaker. He is one of the world’s foremost authorities on cybercrime and identity theft.

Developing the Digital Innovation Brand

Developing the Digital Innovation brand identity requires an appreciation for the unique and inspiring story behind the conference. Our ultra-modern approach to brand development harmonized well with Digital Innovation and MEGAPOP’s core values: economic development and improved telecommunication through ultra-high speed fiber. With these values in mind, it was important to develop a brand that reflected the cutting-edge, community-oriented mission behind Digital Innovation.

Logo Development: It all began with the logo. Each element of a logo will have connotative associations, so creating each piece thoughtfully is important. The ‘D’ icon, the lettering, and the color palette all evoke the central ideas behind Digital Innovation: new technology and cybersecurity. It was also important to create a visually-striking logo that enhances the Digital Innovation brand without being distracting or overly busy.

Website Development: Like any well-designed logo, the Digital Innovation logo transferred seamlessly to the event’s custom-built website. We expanded the color palette to create an immersive web experience from page to page. Each element of the website; including the keynote speaker biographies, two-day agenda, and the ticket registration page; is cohesive, clear, and crafted with user experience in mind. Further improving UX, the website also provides information about the venue, lodging, and vendor registration.

Content Marketing: Marketing the inaugural conference for any brand can be a daunting task, so promoting the very first Digital Innovation conference required a comprehensive strategy that integrated multiple marketing channels. As the nature of the conference suggests, digital marketing channels proved most effective for reaching Digital Innovation’s target audience. We designed posts that were specifically tailored to each platform but were adaptable for optimal cross-promotion. Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn feature our most prominent event promotion.
